EBC Stoptech 63.309.1027 Caliper Bluestuff Brake Pads

BlueStuff Brake Pads use a higher-temperature compound intended for repeated hard braking engineered for your vehicle. This is a compound we recommend for street/track use where thermal stability matters—with stable pedal feel and consistent response when braking loads rise.

Brake feel and consistency depend heavily on compound stability and correct bedding. Compared with many factory pad formulations, this compound typically delivers higher friction levels and improved fade resistance when installed correctly and bedded-in properly.

Features & Benefits

  • High-friction compound designed for elevated brake temperatures
  • Stable friction characteristics across a broad temperature range
  • Excellent fade resistance at sustained high temperatures
  • Predictable pedal feel with progressive modulation
  • Compatible with OEM and performance replacement rotors
  • Bedding-in required to establish a consistent transfer layer

Best For

Best performance street pad upgrade for drivers who want stronger bite and better fade resistance than typical factory pads.

Common Questions

Are these better than factory brake pads?
In most applications, yes. Expect stronger bite and improved fade resistance, especially during repeated stops. Final results depend on rotor condition and proper bedding.

Do I need to bed these pads in?
Yes. Bedding is critical to build a stable transfer layer on the rotor and to achieve the friction and consistency the compound is designed for.

Are these suitable for street driving?
They can be, but these compounds are optimized for higher temperatures. For primarily street use, a street-focused compound is usually quieter and more consistent when cold.

Fitment Notes

Bluestuff NDX is a high friction sport and race material that can be used for aggressive street driving and certain types of track use. The material has had much success on the track with quality aftermarket calipers (Multi piston systems with better release and cooling and larger rotors) and limited success with street based calipers where pad size and caliper drag can challenge any brake material. The biggest advantage of EBC Bluestuff NDX is their bite from cold and progressive brake feel and the ability to bring a car to a complete stop. This has led to the ECE R90 brake safety regulation approval of R90 which is now completed and certificates are being obtained (during July 2011). There are certain older street based caliper systems where even the new Bluestuff will have trouble handling the caliper and slider drag inherent in the systems but this scenario is exactly the same for our competitors. There is NO material that will be PERFECT on the track in all older street based caliper systems.
